#Cme uf5 controller keyboard Patch#
There have been rumors of a patch for the UF series after CME comes out with their newer keyboards at NAMM. Buy CME UF5-49 Key Semi-Weighted Synth-Action Music Keyboard: Portable & Arranger. The uf5, uf6, and uf7 have semi-weighted synth-action keyboards of 49, 61, and 76 keys respectively, while the uf8 being reviewed here has a 88-key weighted hammer-action keyboard. I didn't notice any difference in performance between the MIDI and USB. The first one (linear) was best to me but it really required you to bash the keys to get the highest values. I didn't like the velocity curves that much either. On the CME board others have said that they have encountered the same problem. The warranty had run out anyway so it would've cost me. I assume it was a problem with the keyboard and I have no idea if it could have been fixed. An alternative was to deliberately play the keyboard with more force but the problem still occurred occasionally. The only fix I could find was setting a soft synth so that the lowest velocities were somewhere in the 20 or so range. I actually tested this by setting it to record on a MIDI track in Sonar and then just tried pressing the same key over and over again at the same velocity as best as I could. No, the keyboard actually had weird velocity regardless of the velocity curve used. I'd like to see more measuring how easy it is to get something to do 0-127 accurately than whether or not it "feels good" to a reviewer. The fact that so many reviews go on subjective things like feel, instead of properly measuring accurate velocity output (which is what actually matters when it comes to triggering things) is a bit of the shame though.

#Cme uf5 controller keyboard software#
The lack of any easy editing software might put some people off, but the UF5 is perfect for those who want a keyboard for the stage as well as the studio.I assume it came with adjustable velocity curves and you tried them all? If you want accurate velocity response then, in general, I think hammer action is probably a better bet. Re:CME UF5 Controller Keyboard with Windows 7, Sonar X2, RME Babyface 7 11:17:08 buildingsees the only solution for this is to power it with a dc power supply and connect midi through the standard midi out to your hardware or to a computer using a usb interface. We like the idea of multi-use faders and rotaries, and the transport controls are very useful. The UF5 is very solidly built and has some inventive performance features. Four velocity curves are provided and aftertouch is supported, too. The semi-weighted, synth-action keys are heavier than you'll find on any other controller in this price range and feel great in use. Thanks to the innovative WIDI-XU wireless MIDI interface (included), which works with both Macs and PCs, the CME UF-80 controller keyboard gives you 262. These click satisfyingly when you press them and help you to cut down on your mouse time, which is always a good thing. To the left of the controller is a collection of chunky Transport controls. CME XKey 37key Mobile Keyboard Controller. I just got it for the keys & build quality. Several other momentary buttons give you direct access to a range of functions. The blue-tint aluminum body is durable, sleek and offers a stylish housing for the 49 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch. See CME products at Equipboard and browse the latest gear from CME with ratings. I already had a fader & knob controller I liked to use when I got the keyboard. IN VENDITA CME UF5 4-Octave MIDI Controller Keyboard with. The sliders can be assigned to control volume levels for channels 1-8 and 9-16, and controller values of your choice, effectively giving you 24 sliders worth of control.Įach rotary can operate either a designated function - such as pan - or a user-assigned parameter. CME UF5 4-OCTAVE MIDI Controller Keyboard with Aftertouch, PSU & Sustain Pedal - EUR 105,28. The functions of the sliders and rotaries can be set using the buttons next to them. The sliders' design is less orthodox - these are all set flush with the controller's surface and therefore it doesn't matter that they're packed tightly together. The only problem is that they're positioned too close together. The rotary controls are tactile, centre-detented offerings that operate smoothly. There are buttons, a transport panel, nine rotary controls and nine sliders.Įach of these controls has at least one preset function and this is printed next to it on the chassis. The UF5's top surface is peppered with controllers.
